3.1.4 update requires applying entity schema updates, without doing so you will see the following issue:
The following changes were detected in the entity type and field definitions.

The Scheduled publication field needs to be uninstalled.
The Scheduled moderation state field needs to be uninstalled.
Need to add the step to run drush entup or drush entity-updates after the scheduler update.

These fields appread for us after upgrading from Drupal 9 to 10.
