We can now use Layout Builder in Drupal 8 (experimental).
In certain scenario's when changing the layout of a view mode and using Smart Trim on a field, nothing is shown anymore.
After saving the Layout and viewing the entity you can see the formatter settings did apply and the fields content is shown accordingly.
Node body fields seem to work fine, but a taxonomy term's description field fails in Layout Builder mode with smart trim as field formatter.
