Consdering the age of this, I'll close this. In general, it is unlikely to be a bug with the module if translations are not being imported.
While on 7.x branch the latest alpha release's source is properly processed by localize.drupal.org, but the 8.x is not:

Investigations showed the the t() function is used as required, exactly the same strings were shared between 7.xand 8.x release, so I'd expect to see both versions being displayed on l.d.o's interface and on my website as well. What can be the reason behind?
