The project page shows example of title field in D7 but the D8 version of the module does not provide this feature to enable unique check for the core title field (node label).
2 possible solutions:
While I know that the provided dev version is just a start of the port we should consider that not every user reads the complete port tracker issues carefully. And since dev versions in Drupal contrib do not always mean "unusable" we should provide some warnings.
