That module seems to work fairly well - any reason not to use it?
The Mail collector and Devel Logging Mailer plugins can be used with Mailsystem, which are great, but neither provides a good solution from preventing a site from sending email entirely. A plugin to essentially /dev/null email would be a nice addition to this module.
