Paragraph Tags Added to Tokens

I have a need for several plain text custom tokens. When I create them using this module, token values are wrapped into <p>...</p>. If I try to use them inside of a body of text, it breaks it into multiple paragraphs. Looks like this behavior is caused by a WYSIWYG editor that does it automatically. Is there a way to disable it? As a workaround, I'm switching into Source code mode in WYSIWYG and remove

tags. But it's an unnecessary step that should be avoided.
