I notice that the module uses drupal_add_html_head to place the code on every page.
Yes, this appears to be the recommended placement, as documented by Facebook.

However, this causes the inline script as well as the external Pixel scripts to become render-blocking.
With the huge push in the web development community for Performance Performance Performance, what would be the implications of moving this to the footer, applying defer or async, etc. etc.

I'm not a developer so I don't really know those answers. Would it be difficult to add these as options? Would it even be wise to do so?

I could tinker and play with it, but if there is a good, sound reason not to, I'd rather not waste the time, hence posting the question first. :)
