As this is 7 years od, I close it as outdated - the general idea seems valid, but please reopen with a new patch if this is still required.
In Snippet.php, in the render method the search result was not prepared as in the node search plugin for example, therefore the title with link to the content was not rendered.
Furthermore the language was in a "todo" state and the problem should be addressed also.
Refactor the code, to remove unused imports and deprecated methods from the Snippet class.
Apply language negotiation, and use the theme to have a consistent approach regarding the default search result implementation.
