Is there something in the works to support media reference fields. And more specifically a mixed media reference fiels where you mix media types (bundles).
I know have a view mode for media bundles called overlay that uses magnific_popup and should group the items. However, the items and two different media types e.g. video's and images aren't mixed. Every item has it's own overlay, which isn't the ideal scenario.
How could this scenario be supported?

I found an error with the last patch. I was trying to read the referenced fields with a form_alter in a page using Magnific popup and I found "weird" ids for the media field.
I think the issue comes form that " $items->setValue($new_items); " in the patch.
Attaching a new patch that clones that element.
Patch #13 works well for me, I can't reproduce #15 for now, but attaching interdiff between #13 and #15 for reference, since it's missing.
