Hi,
I've found out under some circumstances more than a tabbed page is displayed at the same time (using the AJAX option in quicktabs). Clicking a new tab before the previous one is loaded results in both being displayed (see 2nd tab, normal loading.png, 3rd tab, normal loading.png, Overlapped tabs.png).
I've found after the AJAX response it's not detected if the loaded page corresponds with the current active tab. The page returned by the AJAX callback is always visible as it's supposed to be the last requested, though it might not be (see Loaded tabs, DOM.png).
