Rewrite returned JSON output when using custom callback

When using a custom callback the returned JSON must adhere to a specific structure for this module to use it.

There should be a way to make the custom call, get JSON returned, and then use a custom adapter to convert the json data returned into a useable format for this module.

This along with https://www.drupal.org/node/2721717 → would make this module very robust.
