So I've found no issue with the ckeditor5 caption.
Going to close out for inactivity but if still a valid task please reopen updating issue summary.
The Filter name and description for FilterAlign and FilterCaption specify that they are to align and caption images. However any HTML element can be caption and/or aligned with these filters. For instance in entity_embed module, we can align the embeded entities by supporting this filter. For cases like these, I feel its confusing to the end user to see that the Filters apply to just images instead of other HTML elements as well. I think these should be updated to reflect this.
