The split function (teaser.js) fails when the node body contains a second
<!--break-->. If you have a
<!--break--><!--break-->, result is an empty body in node edition leading to content lost of submiting.

The change is currently missing an automated test that fails when run with the original code, and succeeds when the bug has been fixed.
