Troubleshooting / PHP Version with EndNote XML "Submitted" / No Title / Undefined property Bug

Regarding EndNote XML import. The Author's names will be imported and the Year/Date will be shown as "Submitted." No title or journal information. There will be a lot of various messages in the log like this.

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$biblio_abst_e in EndNoteXMLParser->endnote8_characterData() (line 295 of /data/hrspubs/.drupal/sites/default/modules/biblio/modules/endnote/endnote_xml_parser.inc).

This issue report mentions some strange behavior regarding the "=." concatenation operator. Removing the "." operator restores some functionality but might cause other problems.

However, I am running the biblio 7.x-1.0-rc7+23-dev on two separate servers with different PHP versions.

I am NOT having trouble with the imports on PHP Version 5.3.3

I am having trouble with the "Submitted" bug on PHP Version 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.9

I might be able to provide this PHP info page for the 5.5.9 version later.

I'd appreciate any help and can provide any other debug info.
