With D7 EOL going to close out, if still an issue in D11 we can re-open
The attached patch will add compatibilty to the compute_field Module.
compute_field stores the computed value in the field 'value'.
The Computed field result must be an integer (nid, tid, etc.).
It is not necessary to store the field as int in the db.
