Question on usage of this module

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if the Sites module can facilitate this scenario: I'd like to use one database but be able to tag content as "preview" or "live". The idea then would be to have one site, preview.xyz.org (behind firewall) for internal review, and another (public) site, xyz.org that only shows what's tagged as "live". A further refinement would be to actually tie in revisions and workflow modules, and maybe rules, instead of using simple taxonomy tags to define the content states. Would this be possible (and relatively secure) using Sites?

Thanks for any info.

As this module has not been maintained for some time, I am closing this ticket as “outdated”. A new version of sites which is architecturally and technically unrelated to the Drupal 6 and Drupa 7 versions will be published here soon.
    Thank you for your contribution.
