I have the Overlay module turned off to improve the performance of my Drupal sites. I have found that when I have the overlay module turned on, I am able to view readme files as this module intends; however, if it's off, I get errors like this when I try to view a readme file:
Not Found
The requested URL "/admin/modules/module_instructions/fontyourface/README.txt" was not found on this server.
