Special Menu Items: https://drupal.org/project/special_menu_items renders a <span> element instead of an <a> element. This is useful, for example, when the top-level menu item does not have its own destination.
On desktop, there is no issue.
On mobile there are 2 scenarios:
1. IE javascript OFF:
tapping special menu item does nothing. nice menu never appears.
2. IE javascript ON:
tapping special menu item causes nice menu to appear, but it never goes away.
