I really can't understand why we need a dependency on context module.
Just to use context_set/context_get functions? But they are just wrappers for static variables!
To provide context condition? We dont have to depend on context module! But what if I dont use context on my site, but I'm using Panels, Rules, something else?
So, I think it will be better to get rid of dependency on context module and just use static variable. But it will be better to provide integration with Rules, Panels, etc.
In this issue I'm attaching patch to replace context_set/context_get functions with just one static field in SiteController class.
Integration with Rules, Panels, etc can be provided in follow-ups.

As this module has not been maintained for some time, I am closing this ticket as “outdated”. A new version of sites which is architecturally and technically unrelated to the Drupal 6 and Drupa 7 versions will be published here soon.
