position thumbs above slides

Hi all,

Is there a way to position the thumbs above the slides?

I need this because I used a preset for slides which show the full viewport of the image, regardless it is landascape or portrait.
In this way, when viewing a portrait image, the thumbs section of the gallery slides obviously down, resulting invisible in the screen.
I think in my case it would be a little more usable if thumbs are above.

I investigated on a CSS only solution, failing...
