I don't think we will fix this in Drupal 7 anymore, sorry.
I would like to use this module to enforce the creation of menu items for all pages, but allow the user to specify that the created menu item is disabled.
I know this sounds odd, let me explain..
The reason for this is that if a page is assigned to a menu, we can use that menu hierarchy to build breadcrumbs and to base menus displayed with the menu_block module on.
So we can choose not to have a menu item visible, but still use the menu to organise/categorise pages.
