I have developed a similar social media module for social plugins integration, I paste the link in order to you could find something usefull for your module. social media module
I think it would be interesting to add from this module entities integration (not only nodes) , creating hook-suggestion for social buttons and bundles, and make use of social_media_info to add buttons programatically and hook_social_media_constructor_alter to achieve more flexibility.
