Problem/Motivation

This is a follow up to #1739928: Generalize language configuration on content types to apply to terms and other entities β†’ . A mechanism is needed to allow custom default values to be added to the Language Config element.

    (Drupal 8 Multilingual Initiative) is the tag used by the multilingual initiative to mark core issues (and some contributed module issues). For versions other than Drupal 8, use the i18n (Internationalization) tag on issues which involve or affect multilingual / multinational support. That is preferred over Translation.

    Outdated. Now you can edit language defaults on entity types, or there are mechanisms around that.
