The 7.x-1.x-dev version is a straight port of the released 6.x-2.x branch; correctly, since the 6.x-3.x branch is -dev only.
The -3.x branch has some significant new features, which I'd like to see in 7.x. Specifically, I'd like to use the path aliasing and taxonomy features.
I'm likely to eventually integrate those and provide patches, if no one else does it, but obviously if someone does, that would be greatly appreciated!

As this module has not been maintained for some time, I am closing this ticket as “outdated”. A new version of sites which is architecturally and technically unrelated to the Drupal 6 and Drupa 7 versions will be published here soon.
