Integrate other image formatters with Formatter Settings Form

I have been researching the various modules for formatting image fields. One of the great features of this module is the ability to integrate with other modules for jQuery modal windows.

Could this be extended to the hook_field_formatter_settings_form()
So other image formatter modules like http://drupal.org/project/cloud_zoom could be used as a slide_style?

It seems to me that this would give us a great flexibility
