A way to display raw URLs without using Views

I am using the link field type to stores URLs, but when displayed using the default Drupal pager it tacks on ".html", and clicking on the link doesn't work properly.

(I'd earlier said that it converts ":" to "%3A", which happens, but this turns out not to be harmful, it's the adding of ".html" that's doing the damage.)

Is there a way to force the display to output the raw URL (which I know is being stored properly based on the DB dump.

When the same text is put in a text field (as opposed to a Link field) there is no such filtering.

Any answers are appreciated.

I'll close this issue due to inactivity for 12 years and upcoming EOL of Drupal 7 in January 2025 . While the project version for Drupal 7 will keep providing support for security issues and website breaking bug fixes for Drupal 7, we should try to minimize the open issues for Drupal 7 in the queue as much as possible. Thanks for the report and all the efforts in here. Feel free to re-open if you can provide a fix or found an additional related problem which increases the issue priority to "Critical" here.
