Now it is possible to enable mobile devices in the 5.0.0 version. But it requires a new fork of the library: https://git.drupalcode.org/project/chosen/-/blob/5.0.x/README.md
I am testing on my iPhone, by clicking on the normal select list (without Chosen widget) popups the built-in iPhone list selector. However, after switching to the Chosen widget, neither the builtin list selector shows up nor the keyboard to type the characters.
