I have been using Wordpress for a long time. I found two plugins that do similar things very, very useful. I would like to point you to this functionality.
Wassup stats (Screenshot - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wassup/screenshots/_
The UI is AJAX, and it shows you user activity in real time. Things I liked about it.
- Real time tracking
- Automatic mapping of IP address with ISP (when data was available)
- Display of user agent
- Omit any IP or user-id from gather stats
- Display Keyword referrals
This by far was my favored plugin.
The other one I liked a lot:
It had a lot of the features above, but the interface was less friendly. It seemed to pick up more data than WASSUP. Perhaps people with javascript turned off. It picked up access by feeds.
It also allowed you to define a particular visitor and assign it a name, even if they haven't logged in and created an account. That makes easier tracking.
You can aggregate data by cookie, or by ip address. In the case of a user using multiple IP's, you could group them together.

These are just some suggestions. It seems you have one of the only modules that does anything like this in Drupal 7.
