Sites causes duplicate content

One of the main reasons that I'm using the Sites module so so that can have user profiles viewed in different themes/layouts in different contexts. So if a user visits /user they are viewing/editing their profile on the main site, if they visit /subsite/user they are editing their profile on the subsite with different theme, different blocks and different options available.

The problem is that now, after enabling the site's module every single piece of content on the site is available in multiple contexts so /node/1 and /subsite/node1 which is going to cause a problem with SEO. Also, it means that it is possible for people to view all content (nodes, views etc) within the context of each site. So, event though /someview is only applicable to the main site, a user can view it at /subsite/someview and view it within the context of the sibsite - different theme etc, which is a problem.

Is there any way around this?

I know that with nodes, I can mark a node as belonging to one site or another using the Sites Taxonomy module, which I assume would resolve the problem with nodes (though I haven't yet tried this) - but what about Views? Is there a way to mark a View as being only relevant/published to a particular site?

As this module has not been maintained for some time, I am closing this ticket as โ€œoutdatedโ€. A new version of sites which is architecturally and technically unrelated to the Drupal 6 and Drupa 7 versions will be published here soon.
    Thank you for your contribution.
