I'm currently using swftools, swflink, and the link modules so that I can host my mp3 audio files in Amazon S3 bucket and still get the benefits of using swftools. One catch that I've come across so far is that my setup prevents the getid3 module from properly displaying id3 tag information for those files hosted in my S3 bucket. Is it possible to pull id3 tag info from a file hosted somewhere other than the files directory, or is that just a technical impossibility?
I'm using D6 right now. I imagine that your answer may be different for D7.
