Synopsis

A simple module that provides the ability to limit access (create/views/update/delete) to a paragraph type by user roles.

The module works by adding form elements to paragraph type configuration form, and enforcing that the user has a specified role when trying to access a paragraph instance.

The module also adds a permission called 'bypass paragraphs role access' to bypass all checks made by this module.

Usage

Install the module, create a paragraph or go and edit an existing one and select the roles you want to limit certain operations to.

Requirements

As this module enhances Paragraphs module for Drupal 8, those are the obvious requirements.

No other requirements, except any custom roles, content types and paragraph types a user wants to use this module with.

Original module was developed by Jukka Huhta of Siili Solutions in an Aalto University project.

Some implementation details are loaned from Paragraphs Type Permissions submodule of Paragraphs.

Similar projects and how they are different

, a submodule of Paragraphs. It adds permissions to every paragraph type. The list might be long if you have a lot of different paragraph types. Also, you might want to be able to configure paragraph type permissions without the need of modifying the actual permission list.
with Advanced Access and Role Access Control, a more full-fledged approach supporting also different kinds of entities. Needs to be fixed, though (#2999132: The user.advanced_access cache context doesn't exist.). And be aware that it's easy to end up with not enough permissions for just a normal paragraph if you don't have a permissive default in place. Separate place for access configuration, not from the paragraph type form.
