Passing arguments to a widget (like on Drupal.org)

Hi there,

I've tried the Dashboard module, since I liked the implementation on Drupal.org. Like on Drupal.org, I would like to have links on certain pages that say 'Add xxx for xxx to Dashboard'. I suppose that this is done with a view, that has a certain argument (e.g. nodeID). There is one thing that I can't figure out.. How can I pass arguments to a widget?
