The old system used to credit maintainers automatically if the commit was made before the issue was marked fixed (the reliance of issue status was very wierd). Now this behaviour has been removed. Which means a maintainer needs to add themselves. It can feel awkward crediting yourself and the automatic credit meant removed this awkwardness. I believe the automatic credit for making a commit is the right thing to do. Even just deciding to commit an issue deserves credit and removing the awkwardness of crediting yourself is a good thing.
The maintainer who commits and issue should be automatically credited.

This was the last automated credit we had in the old system, as all other automations were removed.
If ✨ Simplify agreed commit format Active is done, this might not be needed.
It also has the same challenges as 🐛 Authored-by should use email address from commits Active , as commits only have email which may or may not lead to an actual d.o user. Having said that, this is just one user, so the logic would be easier.
