HREFLANG tags not added while multiple languages enabled.

Problem/Motivation

I have installed this module on a vanilla Drupal 10 site. The Metatag: Hreflang module is already installed and is correctly outputting hreflang tags in the DOM. However, after configuring this module for the all languages which are installed on our site, it is not modifying/altering hreflang tag, as the module claims to do.

Steps to reproduce

  • Install vanilla D10 instance
  • Enable multiple languages
  • Install Metatag and Metatag:HREFLANG modules. It will add HREFLANG tags in DOM.
  • Now install this module. Configure it for languages.
  • This module is not altering/modifying existing HREFLANG tags.

    • Proposed resolution

    It should alter existing HREFLANG tags with updated langcode which is configured from this modules settings like en-US
