Set default_value correctly on entity edit form

Problem/Motivation

Steps to reproduce

Add Display mode field and set the Default value to a display mode. Make sure to configure to content type under settings. When editing the content type the Display mode field should be on the default value saved.

Proposed resolution

Fix with better code to set default value when node edit form is loaded.
