In the field settings of custom field there is a handy option to hide the subfield widget on form displays, to be populated automatically. However, in numeric subfields, the prefix and suffix setting should be configurable even for hidden form subfields.
Consider the following use case: An automatic algorithm will compute a percentage value of two custom field subfields and insert the result in a hidden third subfield. The user would want to set the suffix " %" on this third subfield. However, if the subfield widget is set to hidden, the prefix and suffix settings are not available in the custom field field settings.
Checked workaround: If the widget is first set to regular visible field, the prefix and suffix configured, and the subfield is set afterwards to hidden, the prefix/suffix values still fail to display.
Make the prefix and suffix widget settings available for hidden numeric subfields.

I can't really support something like this as it's a bit of edge case on it's use case. The 'Hidden' widget now works as designed to not render anything. You could always extend that widget though and change the element type to 'hidden' instead of 'value' along with whatever other custom settings you need.
