This is a follow-up to 📌 Allow composer location to be configured via the UI Active , which adds a simple settings form to Package Manager. Currently, the only settings on that form are the paths to the Composer and rsync executables.
It's good that there is a UI for changing those settings, but it would be really good if a user could explicitly ask Package Manager to try auto-detecting the locations of both (for example, if they move from one environment to another, or the host changes things, or...)
Uncertain; we might want a UX design for this before we start implementing anything.
One idea I had is to put an explicit "auto-detect" button on the form which, if clicked, clears the saved values from configuration and reloads the form, which will cause Package Manager to try and find the locations of both executables, leaving the fields (which are required) empty if not found.
