@rkoller please let me know if you have further a11y or other UX suggestions for these widgets.

the first issue i've noticed is that there are no focus outlines shown in safari. but the css is there. the focus outline is 2px dotted transparent and the focus box shadow then with the claro focus green. (other interface components in safari using the same properties are showing the outline, only the buttons in bpmn are not) . firefox and edge show the focus outline properly
for the rest i have to test some more (and i can also discuss the detail about buttons in tomorrows a11y track meeting for drupal cms as well).

I would need some help to fix this, though. Could you please verify if the behaviour in the navigation is as expected in the navigation bar, and if so, compare the CSS properties between navigation and BPMN widgets? If you find differences, you could probably test in Safari to close the gap and see if that fixes the issue?

Can I suggest that we close this issue as fixed, as they are now buttons as the issue indicates. If there is a follow-up on a special browser only, then that should go into a separate one with more details on what's wrong and what needs to be fixed.
