Cannot Add Field State Conditions to Control Field

Problem/Motivation

When trying to create a field state on a control field the, after selecting the

Steps to reproduce

Drupal 10.5 create a boolean field.
Go to boolean field's Manage Form Display widget settings and select a Field State "visible" then click [Add]
(The module will arbitrarily preselect (most likely) an undesired field.)
Then select desired Target field.
Once the desired target field is selected the animated processing graphic keeps turning and never completes or saves the request. If you try to select or change a Comparison Type the settings box closes and the field state application fails.
