The overview page for models is being taken over by the Modeler API module as of version 3 of ECA, which will be published in a couple of weeks. So, if anything, this would then be an issue for over there. That's why I'm moving it to that module.
However, I'm not convinced that there is an easy way to grouping because everybody will certainly have different ideas and requirements, on what the grouping should look like. The comparison with the field group module doesn't make sense in this context because it is a manual setup process for entity types. Here, with a list of config entities, we don't have any parent item that could be manually configured. The list of models is just a view.
So, you can alter the view, and if you have a proposed setup, you could post it here for review.
However, we already offer an inline search that lets you find models easily. I'm just bringing background information up, maybe that helps in finding ways for improvements.
