The module is still marked Drupal 9 compatible. In practice it was not tested a while, and Drupal 9 is long EOL.
Drop Drupal 9 supported. -> Release new minor.

actually, this is a bug, since in reality d9 is already unsupported and untested, let's mark it as such. Still, let's release next release as a new minor to better communicate that. I don't think it warrants to create a new major for that fix.
