In the config for the button, we have "Query string to append to the add link". Great!
And if I put a fixed number there, to pass to an "add entity" form, it works. Also great!
But I am adding a button on an EVA form... and I see no description that says this field supports tokens, nor are there any tokens from the EVA view context in the token dropdown.
Is this an option that is actually viable? Thanks!

Yes, tokens are supported. If you check the relevant box, you should be presented with available tokens for the button and query string fields.
If anything is not working as intended, please let me know.
