Sounds like a problem for the TMGMT module not for here. Worth checking their issue queue for anything related to acquia site studio there.
This module just provides a bridge between the AI module and the TMGMT module is all

TMGMT works with Site Studio, as mentioned in Acquiaโs documentation: https://sitestudiodocs.acquia.com/8.1/user-guide/translations-using-tmgmt.
The Google Translator (tmgmt_google) plugin for TMGMT (similar implementation) also works well with Site Studio.

Okay cool, happy to see a merge request then. I won't be able to review as I don't use acquia site studio so you may need to get someone from acquia themselves to review if you don't want to rely on patching. But let's see what your merge request looks like and perhaps if your change does no harm could be merged without external review.

Hi Scott,
Sorry for the confusion. After some more debugging, I saw that the translation text structure is the same as what the Google Translator plugin creates. You were right, the real problem is with how TMGMT handles referenced entities, not with this module.
Thanks for the help. Sorry again for my earlier message.

No problem at all, not sure best status but I guess will mark as a duplicate of the related issue you link to. Hope you manage to find the solution you need!
