Demo checkout flow configuration seems incomplete

I noticed payments were not being captured properly even though both checkout flows in the Kickstart demo appear to authorize and capture during checkout. Resaving the form resulted in captures processing as expected. I'm assuming this is owing to incomplete configuration being imported by Kickstart.
