Unable to save the translated the page.

Created on 17 April 2025, about 2 months ago

Hi Team,

We've translated the product page using the TMGMT module along with DeepL. The product name was also translated into DE, JP, and ES languages during this process.

We now have a request to update the product name across all translations to match the English version. However, when attempting to edit the page title on the translated page (DE), we're encountering the following error:

"Contents of fields that should not be translatable can only be changed in the original content, but not in the translated version of the content in question."

Interestingly, we can update other fields on the same page without any issues—the error only appears when editing the page title.

Could you please confirm if, since we're using DeepL for translations, all text revisions — including product names — should be handled during the translation review process in TMGMT? Kindly advise on the recommended approach for this scenario.

Thanks,
Divya

The issue is not related to the module. It’s a more general issue with translatable content and related configuration.
Please check to /admin/config/regional/content-language what’s configured for the title of the entity.

Therefore I will close this issue.

    Hi Steffenr,

I'm reopening these tickets because I'm again facing an issue while translating pages. The problem appears to be specific to one content type—translations for the other three content types are working fine.

I'm currently using the following module versions:

    tmgmt_deepl – 2.2.11
    tmgmt – 8.x-1.17

While editing the translation page, I get the following error -

"Contents of fields that should not be translatable can only be changed in the original content, but not in the translated version of the content in question."

    Thanks,
    Divya

@divya.pm As is already wrote in my last comment, the issue is not related to the tmgmt_deepl module. Please check your field settings and multilingual related functionality.

Sorry, but I cannot give support for that issue - therefore it will be closed again.
