Problem/Motivation

We want to replace custom grequest with contrib grequest in Open Social Distro.

The grequest module provides a way to request access to a group. It was originally created as a patch for the Group module but it was decided to spin it out into a separate contrib module to keep the group module leaner.

Proposed resolution

  1. Update related custom code in Distro and modules that use request.
  2. Change type of grequest_status field from integer to state.
