In our educational site we have two node types that work together:
1) A Long answer question
2) A long answer question response.
When students create a response node linked to an original question, we would like them to be able to 'see' the original question in the response edit form but not edit it. - i.e. we want it rendered read-only and preferable without a misleading CKEditor toolbar being displayed.
We have been able to use ECA to automatically create a reponse node and copy across the Long question text to the a new field but we cannot work out how to effect the read-only feature that we are after.
We have tried to use ECA's Form field: set as disabled but it seems to tricky on CKEditor widgets.
Can anyone help hereto nudge us in the right direction because, with all the power of ECA, to get it in there and tweak, this seems like it ought to be easy and we think we might be approaching it the wrong way.

CKEditor field widgets are tricky, they don't always follow the expected paths. I wonder if you should probably hide that field entirely by disabling it in the form display settings of the node field UI, and then use ECA to inject the rendered field into the form.
