First of all, thank you for this module and your contributions to the Drupal community.
With the recent change in Drupal Core, where the getEntity() function has been made public, I believe we can update this module to leverage it. Additionally, we have observed slight performance improvements in function calls when using this approach.
In my current project, we are dealing with a large number of menu items—more than 500(which is somewhat of an exception).
Given this scale, we have observed that contributed menu modules, such as translatable_menu_link_uri, can benefit significantly from using getEntity(), leading to noticeable performance improvements.
