Documentation for Basic page content type

Created on 18 March 2025, 15 days ago

This issue relates to Drupalize.Me's work on Drupal CMS's documentation as part of the Adopt-A-Document program β†’ .

Scope

The documentation within the scope of this issue will consist of 2 tutorials in the "Basic pages" section, within the "Manage content" guide.

[Doc guide] Manage content
-- [Doc guide] Basic pages
---- [Doc page] What are basic pages?
---- [Doc page]

Description

These tutorials describe the use-case for the basic page content type, and details about how to create, update, and publish a page. There is also some minimal content about using Layout Builder for these types of landing pages. With the understanding that this will be replaced with XB in the future so we don't want to go into to much detail right now.

These two pages have been created and published. But they still need to have Adopt-a-Document sponsorship information added. Lenny, I'm assigning this to you so you can add that information when you get a chance. The two new pages are linked in the summary.

I've also opted for now to just add these pages to the top-level "Manage content" guide rather than having them be nested deeper. While the working outline calls for these to be part of their own sub-guide I think that until we have a lot of content in this guide that level of depth is unnecessary. And, can make it look like there's actually less here than there really is. We can revisit the nesting in the future as needed.
