Created on 18 March 2025, about 1 month ago

Problem/Motivation

Widen has on-the-fly image transformations (Image format selection). But, we didn't find out how to select file format while uploading images.

Please let us know how do we convert the file format while adding assets into Drupal pages using Drupal Acquia DAM module.

    Hello @bhagyalakshmi,

Currently, there is no feature that allows image type conversion during asset attachment to the content. The assets displayed in the content are shown exactly as they were uploaded to the Acquia DAM (formerly Widen) system.

I'm trying to understand the scenario where you would want to upload different image type to Widen, and you plan to serve different versions of those images on Drupal applications. Also, if you make any modifications to the image in Widen, how would that updated version be automatically converted and synced with the Drupal application? Could you please describe your use case in more detail?

    Hi Vipin,

    Thank you for your response.

Previous we used widen collective module for uploading widen images, now we are using Acquia DAM module.
When we search in the widen using widen collective module, it will search all type of formats (example .psd etc) and have an option (download/share) to select which type of format we want to upload.

We are looking for the same kind of feature (download/share) in Acquia DAM module also. So that, content admins can convert the file format rather than inserting .psd files directly into the application.
